Don't Sweat The Small Stuff

How is it going, dear reader?
Feels like it has been more mad than a rabid badger recently, but I always say it is better to be busy than bored!
Gigs have been coming thick and fast, and its been great fun playing them all this year! Thank you to those who have invited me to play for them on their special day as well, those are some of the most rewarding gigs!
Summer seems to have thought about appearing, and left us in the cold again, hopeful it's planning some sort of grand entrance this year...

I've been watching a lot of Tony Robbins stuff lately, he is quite a character! I've started reading his new book "Money, Master The Game" and it has some really interesting stuff that can help you out. Also, the money goes to feeding those in need, so hurray for Tony Robbins.
Anyway, enough from me - go forth and be happy. remember you never know what is round the bend so do what you want to do now!
Don't sweat the small stuff,
L.

Myocytes out NOW!

Hello everyone, are you sitting comfortably? Apparently leaning back 35 degrees is good for you, so much for not leaning back in your chair...

I hope you have been enjoying my "Silly Little Ditty" videos. I mean what is the point in being creative if you can't summon up some utter nonsense? I'm sure it's good for clearing the creative pipes. I'm sure Picasso would occasionally draw rude things on people's houses just for fun...

I also hope you like "Myocytes" which is out on iTunes now! I'm busily working on the next release, "Fracas" which is developing nicely. I'm sure any day now it will pop out, open it's eyes and call me mum.

In the mean time I hope we all get to enjoy some of this three month heat wave we're apparently about to have. Bring it on.

Is it spring?

Hello all.

It actually feels like spring. Easter has happened. Where is the time going?!

Myocytes, my new single, is up on iTunes for you to get your mits on. Go put it in your ears and see how it fits you.

I am also working on a silly little ditty that you will find on youtube in a very casual format very soon. Because what is the point in being able to write songs if you can't post the most idiotic of them online immediately?

Been learning a great deal from people I have found online and through books, so make the time and look up Tai Lopez - interesting guy.

Whilst I'm talking about looking things up, why not check out my first 'Silly Little Ditty', click here:

Now I have already taken up enough of your sweet time so for now my friends, please go forth and be happy.

VERY excited to announce that my new single MYOCYTES is being sent off to my distributor this evening so should be released into the world within the next few days!

As always, blood sweat and salty sweet tears have gone into this so I really hope you enjoy it.

Big thanks to Em for the artwork, I think it looks great, don't you?  Your feedback on the song and artwork is welcome, please get in touch via the contact tab!

There and back again

Go to New Zealand. Just do it, it is possibly the most brilliant, beautiful place I have ever been. The flight is a bit of a monster though...

I'm back - over the jet lag and feeding off the memories of some awesome holiday type activities (swimming with wild dolphins and bungy jumping were highlights) so expect some odd imagery in my songs coming out this year.

"Oh I hate being upside down, like a dolphin trying to drown..."

Anyway, fired up and ready to get on with things now - should have the next single, Myocites, ready to roll out to iTunes in a couple of weeks.

As for now, I wish you all a good day.  L.

So... what is your year looking like?

So the dust has just about settled after 2014's spectacular demise and I am very excited about this year already! Lots and lots to do and I'm looking forward to all of it. I have opted for a few focused resolutions that hopefully I will be seeing the benefit of more and more as the year rolls along.

I hope you all had a good New Year's Eve, whether you were drunker than you've ever been before at a huge party underneath some epic fireworks or just incredibly comfy and cosy at home watching some epic fireworks on the telly. Epic fireworks are really the key thing, it seems. Did you see Dubai's display? Unbelievable...

I enjoyed another party like only the Jolly Sailor in Bursledon know how to throw, this year in Rocky Horror Show trim. Very excellent indeed!

Anyway, here's to a productive, happy, healthy 2015.

Christmas!

OK, I suppose there really is no point in denying that Christmas has crept up so close behind us we can smell it's spiced, alcoholic breath wafting over us. Just one gig left for me before then - The Fox and Hounds on the 24th. Should be very nice for anyone who wants to come!

This year isn't over yet but I'm already spinning with how busy next year is going to be! I have some pretty ambitious plans - watch this space...

Looking forward to NYE at the Jolly Sailor for their Rocky Horror themed fancy dress party! I hope you all know the words to "Sweet Transvestite"...

I hope you all have an excellent Christmas, listen to the Pogues (it's the best Xmas song) drink that magic amount that leaves you merry all night but not sore in the morning, and have a good time with the ones you love.

Merry Crimbo all, and an epic new year.

Blog Nov 26th 2014

Is it just me or are the skies dumping all the rain we should have had over the year in this one month? Drive carefully out there ladies and gents. My partner Em has phoned me from the scene of road accidents she has been witness to and helped the victims of (but not been involved in, before anyone asks) three times in the last month. It is starting to get eerie.

I feel like this year has shown me a lot so far, and continues to do so. There have been dramas left right and centre, and it has been a bit of a whirlwind to say the least. What I can say is I have been shown over and over that you must enjoy yourself, do what makes you happy, and take care of the important people in your life.

I can feel Christmas creeping up behind me, but not before my birthday in less than a week! I'm really looking forward to being 25, and to 2015. Bring it on. Bring it all on, and bring some extra just in case.

First blog on the new site!

And so here we are, with a shiny new website up and running. Well done Em for your herculean efforts in setting it up!

Hard to believe we are already drawing close to the end of 2014 (even though the trees seem to only have just realised this, which is fine by me as it has kept our neck of the woods less depressingly bare all autumn). I don't believe in Christmas until the 1st of December, when I really should start looking at thinking about making a start on buying presents for people... Anyway, stop talking about it. It doesn't exist yet. Shush.

I've really enjoyed getting to know my new loop pedal over the last few months, and being able to sing in a bass line (and it actually sound like a sort of bass synth) is something I now don't know how I did without before. That, coupled with some excellent guitar effects from my trusty drum sampler, has helped enrich the live sound a fair bit recently. I think Boss/Roland should sponsor me, I really do.

Plans are shaping up to go on a campervan tour of New Zealand in the new year with Em, and I can't wait! We're getting a bungy jump into a river done as soon as possible so that should set the tone for a good adventure.

This week I have been really enjoying learning covers of Sia's monster hit "Chandelier" and Hozier's "Take Me To Church", and playing the re-release of the fantastic GTA V. First person GTA is the best idea since it went from bird's eye view to 3rd person perspective.

I've also been song writing and have come up with some really promising ideas - most of which you will hear at some point in the near future. For now its time to stop writing, eat a quick dinner and get out to tonight's gig.
